Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor), el niño al que le encantaba embarcarse en aventuras en el Bosque de los Cien Acres con su pandilla de vivaces y adorables animales de peluche, ha crecido y ha perdido el rumbo. Ahora, Christopher, el hijo del creador del famoso personaje infantil Winnie The Pooh, se ha convertido en padre de familia y en todo un hombre de negocios con grandes responsabilidades. Pero un día recibe la inesperada visita de Pooh, el oso con quien compartía juegos en su niñez. Así, su vida volverá a recuperar la felicidad perdida al recordar que una vez fue un alegre y cariñoso niño, y que ese niño todavía existe en su interior.
Esta película de Disney en acción real está dirigida por Marc Foster (Guerra mundial Z, Quantum of Solace), y su guión lo escriben Tom McCarthy (Spotlight), Allison Schroeder (Figuras ocultas) y Alex Ross Perry (Nostalgia), a partir de los personajes creados por el escritor británico Alan Alexander Milne. Los actores protagonistas del filme son Ewan McGregor (Fargo, T2: Trainspotting) como Christopher Robin y Hayley Atwell (Agente Carter, Vengadores: La era de Ultrón) como su esposa Evelyn. El reparto del filme lo completan Mark Gatiss (Sherlock), Roger Ashton-Griffiths (La casa torcida) y la niña Bronte Carmichae (En la playa de Chesil). Además la versión original del filme cuenta con las voces de Toby Jones (El muñeco de nieve), Peter Capaldi (Paddington 2), Brad Garrett (Fargo) y Jim Cummings (Las aventuras del Gato con Botas) como Winnie The Pooh.
